Windshield Chip Repair in Menifee, CA
A resin repair fills small chips, helps stop them spreading and keeps your original windshield — far quicker and cheaper than a new one.
Windshield chip repair
How windshield chip repair works
A windshield is two layers of glass bonded around a clear plastic layer, and a stone chip usually damages only the outer one. A resin repair fills that damage: the air is drawn out of the break, clear resin goes in, and ultraviolet light cures it hard. It helps stop the chip spreading, restores much of the glass’s strength and makes the damage far less noticeable.
Timing matters in the Inland Empire. Hot afternoons, a blast of air conditioning, rough roads and slammed doors can all turn a small chip into a crack that can’t be repaired. Small, fresh chips away from the edge are the ones we can usually save, so come in soon and cover the chip with clear tape until you do.

What to know
What chip repair can and can’t fix
Chip repair is great for the right damage. Here’s how to tell, and what to expect.

What it fixes
Small chips, bullseyes and star breaks in the outer layer of glass, ideally fresh ones. A handy rule of thumb: damage smaller than a quarter, away from the edge and out of the driver’s direct view is a good candidate.

What it can’t fix
Long cracks, damage at the edge of the windshield, breaks that reach the inner layer and chips right in the driver’s line of sight usually mean a new windshield. If repair isn’t the right call, we’ll tell you straight.

Why chips spread
Glass expands in the sun and contracts when cold air hits it. Add potholes, slammed doors and freeway vibration, and a chip can run into a crack overnight — which is why sooner is always better.

How it looks afterwards
Much clearer, but not always invisible. You can usually still find the point of impact if you look closely; most people won’t notice it. The main goal is strength: stopping the chip before it costs you a windshield.

Before you come in
Cover the chip with clear tape, skip the car wash, don’t press on it and avoid blasting hot or cold air at the glass. Never fill it with glue or nail polish — that can stop the resin bonding later.

Keep your factory glass
A repair keeps the original windshield and its factory seal. On newer cars with cameras and sensors behind the glass, that can also avoid the recalibration a replacement windshield may need.
Side by side
Repair or replace your windshield?
Size, position and how fresh the damage is decide it. Here’s the quick guide.
Repair usually works
- A small chip, bullseye or star break
- Roughly smaller than a quarter
- Away from the edge and the driver’s direct view
- Caught early, before dirt and water get in
Replacement is usually needed
- Long or spreading cracks
- Damage at or near the edge
- Breaks through both layers of glass
- Damage right in the driver’s line of sight

What our customers say
They did a awesome job, i got heat prevention all around, and all my windows tinted. Yes also the windshield. The guy was real friendly, i didnt have a ride back to the house and i didnt want to uber home, so i came prepared to wait the whole 3 hours, he kept me uo to date on the eta, and also told me i can relax and watch the tv if i wanted. I had my switch, so i just played smash bros while i waited and walked to the gas station near by.
I recently took my new Ford Maverick in for window tinting and had an incredible experience. The owner really took the time to explain the technical differences between the various grades of film. What really sold me was the heat lamp demonstration—he showed the actual UV protection and heat rejection of each grade in real-time. We were originally planning on a lower-grade tint, but seeing that demo made it a no-brainer to opt for the higher-grade protection. The installation is flawless, the truck looks awesome, and it is already making a huge difference in the heat. If you want a pro who actually educates his customers, this is the place!
Went in for a windshield repair for a significant rock strike that immediately spiderwebbed to an inch across, that was in a difficult area towards the corner of my windshield. What I admired most was the 100% honest disclaimer this would not likely be a full repair but a repair meant to stop further progression. I have had many rock strikes and windshield replacements over the years and I knew a full repair was unlikely. The repair was done quickly and at a very fair price. The repair was much more complete than I expected. Highly recommended and will return.
Adriana at tint monsters was absolutely amazing! She was quick, professional, and incredibly polite throughout the whole experience. Everything was smooth from start to finish, and her work speaks for itself. On top of that, she has such a great, friendly vibe definitely made the visit even better. Highly recommend Adriana and Tiny Monsters to anyone looking for top-quality service!
Windshields have two layers of glass with a clear plastic layer between them, and a chip usually damages only the outer layer. We clean the break, remove the air from it, fill it with clear resin and cure the resin with UV light, so it bonds the glass and stops the damage traveling.
Much better, but not brand new. You can usually still see where the stone hit if you look closely; most people won’t notice it. The real point of the repair is to stop the chip spreading, so you don’t end up needing a new windshield.
It depends on your policy. Some policies cover chip repair and some don’t, so check with your insurer before you book — we can’t promise what they’ll pay. Either way, a repair costs far less than a replacement windshield, so it’s usually worth doing quickly.
We don’t charge for any repair that fails, and we judge that by the strength of the glass, not by how the repair looks. A faint mark where the stone hit is normal and doesn’t count as a failed repair.
No. Small, fresh chips away from the edge repair well. Long cracks, damage at the edge, breaks through both layers and chips right in the driver’s line of sight usually need a new windshield. We’ll tell you honestly which kind you have before any work starts.
As soon as you can. Heat, cold air on hot glass, bumps and slammed doors can make a chip run, and dirt and water getting into the break make the repair less clear. Until you come in, cover the chip with clear tape and skip the car wash.
Far less time than replacing a windshield: it’s a repair, not a glass swap, so the original windshield and its factory seal stay in place. Tell us about the chip when you book and we’ll let you know how long to allow for your visit.
