Signal-safe Union Ceramic IR for the Model 3, Model Y, Model S, Model X and Cybertruck, fitted indoors — with the rear glass and roof done in single pieces of film.
Tesla window tinting
Teslas are mostly glass, and in an Inland Empire summer that glass lets in a lot of heat. Factory roof and rear glass may look shaded, but how dark glass looks doesn’t tell you how much infrared heat it stops. Union Ceramic IR is built for exactly that: Union lists it at 87% infrared rejection and 99.99% UV rejection, with results varying by shade and glass.
We tint Teslas indoors at our Menifee shop, fitting the rear glass and the glass roof in single pieces of film so there’s no seam across your view. There’s no metal in the film, so your phone key, GPS and LTE work as normal. And less heat through the glass means less work for the climate system, which runs off the same battery that drives the car.

Tesla tint at Tint Monsters
Why tint a Tesla
Here’s what Union Ceramic IR does on each part of a Tesla’s glass.

Model 3, including the 2024 “Highland”; Model Y, including the 2025 “Juniper”; Model S; Model X; and Cybertruck. We tint the side windows, the rear glass and, on cars that have one, the glass roof.

Tesla roof glass already has some tint and UV protection from the factory, but on a sunny drive it can still pour heat onto your head and shoulders. Ceramic film on the roof cuts that overhead heat, and a lighter shade keeps the open, airy feel.

Tesla rear glass is big — the Model 3’s reaches far up toward the roof. We fit it in a single piece of ceramic film, the same as the roof, so there’s no seam line across the glass.

Union Ceramic IR has no metal in it, so your phone key, GPS, LTE and radio work exactly as they did before. On a car you unlock with your phone and navigate by satellite, that matters.

Union lists Ceramic IR at 87% infrared rejection and 65% of total solar energy rejected. Less heat through the glass means the climate system works less to cool the cabin — on the same battery that drives the car. Results vary with shade and glass.

California allows a non-reflective strip across the top of the windshield — the Model X’s tall one included — and clear, colorless UV film on the front doors that still turns away heat. Behind the front doors, any shade is allowed with outside mirrors on both sides. More on our tint-law page.
Side by side
Most Tesla owners start with the side and rear glass. Adding the roof is a separate choice — here’s how the two compare.
Our films
Switch between Union Ceramic IR and Carbon IR to compare heat rejection and shades for your Tesla’s side windows, rear glass and roof. We’ll help you choose, then fit it indoors at our Menifee shop.

The most heat we can block
Carbon with a ceramic layer on top for the strongest heat rejection Union makes — the one to choose when the Inland Empire sun is the problem.
Tint shades
Drag across the glass to see the tint land, then step through the shades. Every one is Union Carbon IR or Ceramic IR — only the light it lets through changes.
In California, every shade here works on the rear side windows and the back window (with mirrors on both sides), the front side windows take clear UV film that still turns away heat, and the windshield takes a sun strip across the top.

Visible privacy, serious heat control and a factory look on the rear glass.
How it works

Model, year and which glass you want done — windows, rear glass, roof — or call (951) 546-8081. We’ll recommend a film and shade and send a price.

Most Teslas are finished the same day. Plan on leaving yours with us for around half a day, longer for full glass and roof work.

We clean every pane, shape the film, fit the rear glass and roof in single pieces and work carefully around the door glass, trim and electronics.

Keep the windows up for 7 days. Frameless door glass drops slightly each time a door opens — one more reason to give the film its full week.

They did a awesome job, i got heat prevention all around, and all my windows tinted. Yes also the windshield. The guy was real friendly, i didnt have a ride back to the house and i didnt want to uber home, so i came prepared to wait the whole 3 hours, he kept me uo to date on the eta, and also told me i can relax and watch the tv if i wanted. I had my switch, so i just played smash bros while i waited and walked to the gas station near by.
I recently took my new Ford Maverick in for window tinting and had an incredible experience. The owner really took the time to explain the technical differences between the various grades of film. What really sold me was the heat lamp demonstration—he showed the actual UV protection and heat rejection of each grade in real-time. We were originally planning on a lower-grade tint, but seeing that demo made it a no-brainer to opt for the higher-grade protection. The installation is flawless, the truck looks awesome, and it is already making a huge difference in the heat. If you want a pro who actually educates his customers, this is the place!
Went in for a windshield repair for a significant rock strike that immediately spiderwebbed to an inch across, that was in a difficult area towards the corner of my windshield. What I admired most was the 100% honest disclaimer this would not likely be a full repair but a repair meant to stop further progression. I have had many rock strikes and windshield replacements over the years and I knew a full repair was unlikely. The repair was done quickly and at a very fair price. The repair was much more complete than I expected. Highly recommended and will return.
Adriana at tint monsters was absolutely amazing! She was quick, professional, and incredibly polite throughout the whole experience. Everything was smooth from start to finish, and her work speaks for itself. On top of that, she has such a great, friendly vibe definitely made the visit even better. Highly recommend Adriana and Tiny Monsters to anyone looking for top-quality service!
Yes. We apply Union Ceramic IR to Tesla rear glass and roof glass in single pieces, so there’s no seam line across the glass — including the Model 3’s long rear window. Tell us your model and year when you ask for a price and we’ll confirm the coverage and timing.
No. Union Ceramic IR has no metal in the film, so it won’t interfere with your phone key, GPS, LTE or radio. Signal problems came from metallic films; carbon and ceramic films avoid them, which is why they suit Teslas and other cars packed with wireless tech.
Not always. Tesla roof glass already has some tint and UV protection from the factory, and some owners are happy tinting only the windows. If the car sits outside or you feel heat on your head on sunny drives, ceramic film on the roof cuts that overhead heat — and a lighter shade keeps the cabin feeling open.
Most Teslas are done the same day. Plan on leaving the car with us for around half a day: a full package with rear glass and roof takes longer than side windows alone, and removing old film adds time. We’ll confirm when you book.
Union Ceramic IR is made for the long haul and carries Union’s lifetime warranty against film defects such as bubbling, peeling, cracking and fading, under the manufacturer’s terms. Scratches, damage and misuse aren’t covered. If anything ever looks wrong, contact us and we’ll take a look.
Keep the windows up for 7 days and wait a week before cleaning the inside glass. After that, use an ammonia-free glass cleaner and a soft, slightly damp microfiber cloth. Never use ammonia cleaners, scrapers or razor blades on the film.
Yes. We tint Cybertruck side windows, rear glass and glass roof with Union film, and the same California rules apply as on any vehicle: clear, colorless UV film on the front doors and a strip across the top of the windshield. Tell us what you want covered and we’ll send a price.

Tesla window tint usually costs from $400 to $1,200. The price depends on the model, the film and whether you want the glass roof done.
Most cars take 2 to 4 hours. Taking off old tint first can add an hour or two.
In California, the front side windows can only take clear UV film, which still cuts heat, and the rear side windows and back window can take any shade. We check the law for your car before we start.
Yes, if heat matters to you. Ceramic film keeps more heat out without having to look darker: Union Ceramic IR blocks up to 87% of infrared heat, against 75% for Union Carbon IR.
Keep them up for 3 to 5 days while the film dries, and wait a week before cleaning the inside of the glass. Use a soft cloth and an ammonia-free cleaner.
Yes. Union car film comes with Union’s limited lifetime warranty against bubbling, peeling and fading on qualifying installs.
